Andreas Maloris

Andreas Maloris was born in Akhelia, Paphos, Cyprus and trained as a Medical Doctor at the Aristoteleion university of Thessalonica and Witswatersrand university of Johannesburg, specializing in Gastroenterology. He is at present practicing Medicine in Limassol, Cyprus.

He published his first book of poetry, “30 poems” in 1983. He subsequently published three collections of short stories: “Balloons vanished" (1997), “Nothing, nothing” (2003) and “Staff redundancy” (2012). His first two collections of short stories were both awarded the Cyprus State Award for literature. Since then, he published two more poem collections: “Slightly distorted” (2015) and “Quantum mechanics” (2019).

Many of his poems and short stories were published in Literary Magazines and various anthologies. Part of his work has also been translated and published in English, German, Italian, Bulgarian and Turkish.
