Antigone Modestou

Antigone Modestou was born and raised in Nicosia.

She studied accounting and management in London, she became a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and was awarded the Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She started her career with the auditing firm of Coopers & Lybrand. In her long career in the Cyprus Telecommunication’s Authority she has been the Internal Auditor of the Cyta group of companies, the Cyta Manager Financial Services and the Chief Finance Officer. She specialises in business reengineering, internal auditing and telecommunications billing, costing and profitability and has addressed numerous conferences in European Capitals and Canada on these subjects.

She paints with oil, acrylic and mixed media. She has participated in group exhibitions.

Antigone is a published novelist. Her books were well received by the public and two of them are critically acclaimed. The four novels in chronological order are «Matter of life and death» Ch. Andreou Publishing Nicosia 1999, pgs 200, «I want to live with you» Εκδόσεις Diinekes Publishing, Athens 2005, pgs 250, «The price of living» Livanis Publishing, Athens 2010, pgs 427 and «Unsurpassed Power» Exandas Publishing, Athens 2017, pgs 407. The novel «The price of living» won the Grand Prix in the international literature competition CONCOURS LITTERAIRE APPEL, France 2014. The latest novel by Antigone Modestou, «Unsurpassed Power» won praise in the 33rd international literature competition of the Panhellenic Writers Association and a Grand Prix in the international literature competition CONCOURS LITTERAIRE APPEL, France 2018.

She is the vice president of the Board of the National Company of Greek Writers - Cyprus and the vice president of the Board of Theatre Company “Ena” Cyprus.
