Lily Michaelides

Lily Michaelides was born in Nicosia where she lives and creates. She attended a course on Secretarial Studies and Public Relations.

She has published in poetry: The Alchemy of Time (Govostis, 2001) / Shapes and Roads in Relief… (Govostis, 2003) / Remembrance of a Dawn, a bilingual poetry collection (Govostis, 2004) / Innuendos (Ypenigmoi) (Melani, 2007) / Arena, a bilingual poetry collection - short listed for the state poetry award, (Melani, 2014) / Entrapped Silk (En Tipis, 2021) and In prose: The city needs no introduction (Melani, 2011) / Drops from the Maasai Land, (Nicosia, 2017, 2019) / Him, stories of men a bilingual collection of narratives - short listed for the state narrative award, (Melani, 2018) / Drops from the Maasai Land (Nicosia 2017, 2019).

Her poems have been translated in many languages and published in literary magazines, blogs, newspapers and anthologies in Cyprus and abroad.

In June 2013 she joined the Board of Directors of the Cyprus PEN Centre, responsible for Public and International Relations, until 2019. Since 2006 she is a cofounder and director of Ideogramma, organisers of literature festivals and poetry events local and international.
